An existing federation home with an extension of a new living pavilion on a corner block in Newtown, in the inner west of Sydney.
The original heritage part of the house has 3 large bedrooms, a living room/piano room and a bathroom, it is connected to the new living pavilion by a Carrara marble stepped floor transition. The new pavilion extends over three floors and comprises an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The dining area opens out to an entertaining terrace through white steel French doors creating a seamless connection from indoor to outdoor. The original attic has been transformed into a master bedroom and ensuite with a layout that prioritises the the view of the rooftop garden.
““Jacqui says she approached the design of the heritage part of the home quite differently from the areas in the new extension. In the piano room she leant into the already dark room by painting it in a deep moody blue but accented it with a pink/terracotta rug and joinery to introduce the “playfulness and colour that the client loves so much””
