Bathroom Vanity Materials

When choosing materials for a vanity there are a few things to take into consideration. Water resistance, durability, overall aesthetic and cost. For this vanity we chose a honed Tundra blue limestone for the top and natural timber Walnut veneer for the joinery. The drawer pulls are a brushed gunmetal finish.

Stone can be a great choice for a vanity top, when properly sealed there is less chance of it being stained than when used in a kitchen and it elevates the design of a bathroom, making it feel like a higher end more luxurious space. I personally love how the Tundra blue limestone adds an earthy feature to the vanity and works alongside the walnut timber veneer beautifully.

Natural timber veneer, correctly applied on a moisture resistant substrate and appropriately finished, is also a great choice for a bathroom vanity. Timber veneer is more environmentally friendly than laminate, imparts greater structural stability than solid timber and allows for consistent appearance over wide panels/joinery features; just another consideration when thinking about the overall design and look you are going for.
